Hello!!! My name is Arka Banerjee. I’m from a small village called Dakshin Rasulpur in Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal, India. I am 35 years old, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart—not just for myself, but for the survival of my family.
Since the COVID-19 lockdown, my life has been in constant downfall. I lost my job during that time, and despite countless efforts over the last few years, I haven’t been able to find stable work. Right now, I’m teaching at a small private computer training school, earning just ₹200 per day. It’s not enough—not even close—to support the people who depend on me.
My father suffered three heart attacks over three consecutive years. After the third one, a pacemaker had to be implanted to keep him alive. By then, all my savings—everything I had planned for my future business startup—was gone.
During this same time, I got married. My wife had undergone thyroid cancer surgery before our marriage. She is doing well now, thankfully, but she needs to take expensive medicines for the rest of her life. Both my wife and father require continuous treatment, and the cost of their medicines alone is more than I earn in a month.
I am the only earning member. I have no siblings, no backup, and no support. Just my mother, my sick father, and my wife. We are trying to live, not in luxury, but in dignity. But even that seems impossible now.
Still, I haven’t given up.
I have skills in graphic design. I’ve worked in this field before. I know that if I can get back on my feet, I can build a future—start freelancing, earn decently, and stand on my own again. But for that, I desperately need a laptop with a good processor, high RAM, and a decent graphics card—enough to run design software smoothly.
This is not just a request for a device. This is a plea for a second chance at life—not for comfort, but for survival.
I don’t want to beg. But today, I have no choice but to reach out and ask for help—not for luxury, not even for myself—but for the health and safety of my parents and my wife.
If you or anyone in your network can help me with a laptop, I will never forget it. I will repay your faith not with money, but with hard work, dignity, and gratitude.
Thank you for reading this. It means more than you can imagine.
Sincerely,
Arka Banerjee
