Motivation:
My name is Devante Maseko, a 25-year-old from Middelburg, Mpumalanga, living with disabilities. I am currently unemployed but self-employed, having previously run a small business that last generated income in August 2024. While I continue to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, I am also working on something much bigger—a vision to create a lasting impact on the lives of men in our society. I am the founder of the Brotherhood Alliance Association, an initiative aimed at uplifting and empowering men, particularly those who face systemic and social challenges. Our mission is to foster unity, provide support, and advocate for men’s wellbeing, ensuring they have the necessary resources to thrive as fathers, husbands, leaders, and contributors to a better society. While I am determined to build this organization into a powerful force for change, my greatest challenge right now is access to a laptop. As someone with disabilities, I already face obstacles that make certain tasks more difficult, but not having the right tools adds another layer of struggle. A laptop is not just a device to me—it is a bridge to opportunity. It would allow me to efficiently manage the administrative work of the Brotherhood Alliance Association, from drafting proposals and creating awareness campaigns to organizing events and networking with potential partners and sponsors. Without a laptop, I am severely limited in what I can do. Tasks that should take minutes become frustratingly difficult, and growing the organization at the scale it deserves feels almost impossible. In today’s digital age, access to a computer is not a luxury but a necessity—especially for someone striving to make a difference in his community. Receiving this laptop would be a life-changing opportunity, not just for me but for the many men who will benefit from the work of the Brotherhood Alliance Association. It would allow me to: • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, sponsors, and potential collaborators. • Manage the association’s finances, membership records, and digital content. • Conduct research and develop programs that address critical issues affecting men. • Advocate for men’s rights through online platforms and legal documentation. • Provide mentorship and counseling services via virtual meetings. This laptop would be the foundation upon which I build something truly meaningful. It would help me turn my vision into reality, ensuring that no man in my community feels neglected, unheard, or unsupported. I humbly ask for your support in providing me with this essential tool. I am ready to put in the work, but I need the means to do so. Best regards, Devante Maseko Founder, Brotherhood Alliance Association
